BMZ Among Bavaria’s Top 50 Companies in 2007

On June 18^th, 2007 Erwin Huber, the Bavarian Minister for Economics, Transportation and Technology invited Bavaria’s Best 50 companies to Munich for a special awards ceremony. BMZ was among those companies to receive the award. This distinction places BMZ among Bavaria’s top 50 companies in terms of growth, thereby offering clear confirmation of the company’s excellent business performance as well as further incentive for BMZ’s employees to rise to the further challenges of positive company development. The focus of the Bavarian minister’s initiative was the connection between dynamic entrepreneurship and macroeconomic growth. In light of the significance of this connection, the exemplary nature and economic importance of medium-sized companies was to be given a greater public profile.

	Honored for strong growth: Batterien-Montage-Zentrum again one of “BAVARIA’S BEST 50” Karlstein, Germany – For the second successive time, BMZ Batterien-Montage-Zentrum (located in Karlstein, Lower Frankonia, Bavaria, Germany) is recipient of the “BAVARIA’S BEST 50” award, initiated by the Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology, for being one of the fastest-growing companies in Bavaria. The prize winners were selected from 256 candidates by an independent jury from Ernst & Young AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft Steuerberatungsgesellschaft. The award’s ceremony was held on July 2, 2008 by Mrs. Emilia Müller, Bavarian State Minister for Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology, in the Royal Residence (Residenz) in Munich, Germany. This is the seventh time that “BAVARIA’S BEST 50” awards honor Bavarian companies, which in the past five years have shown the strongest sales growth and increase in the number of employees. These comparison figures are particularly impressive by BMZ Batterien-Montage-Zentrum. From 2003 to 2007, annual sales grew by a factor of 4 to more than 50 million Euros and the number of permanent employees grew from nearly 100 to more than 350. BMZ, a system provider and specialist for intelligent battery solutions, also expects strong growth in the forthcoming years. According to Sven Bauer, Managing Director of BMZ (below with Emila Müller), it is planned to exceed 100 million Euros sales revenue within the next two to three years. “New types of innovative battery cells - with high energy density, extremely low self-discharge, non-sensitivity to low temperatures, durability and high current-stability - open up completely new fields of application. Whether it is, hammer drills, boat propellers, portable vacuum cleaners, battery powered bicycles, mobile lighting fixtures, hybrid drives for vehicles – the demand for intelligent, professional battery solutions has increased sharply over the past years and will definitely continue to increase further. We expect that BMZ, as leading European manufacturer of customized battery solutions, will greatly benefit in the coming years from this strong market growth.”
